How much do your websites cost?
Because
sites range so widely in scope, complexity, and functionality, we can't
provide a fixed answer to this question. For an exact price quote, simply
contact us for a project consultation. After hearing your desired specifications
and requirements, we will provide you with a written budget and proposal
for your project.
What factors determine the cost of a site?
Factors that affect the cost of a new web site include:
Project size
How large is the proposed site? How many sections? Will it include a 'collection'
of many products requiring 'thumbnails' (small images) and enlarged views?
Is the site content already written or will you need assistance writing
the text for the site?
Graphic Design - Logo Development
Do you already have a company logo that we can use? Do you need a logo
designed? Do you have digital images? Or print images that need to be
scanned? Will our photographer have to take digital photographs for you?
Flash Animation
Will the site include Flash animation? With audio?
Functionality
What functional elements will be included? A database? Credit card processing
for e-Commerce? Password protected area for members? Message Board? Site
search function? Sign-up feature for e-Newsletters?
Do you offer web hosting?
We do not host sites. Our company is completely focused in catering
to designing and developing web sites.
However, due to the nature of our business, we have a plethora
of knowledge on the matter of hosting and hosting companies. After we
design your site we host it for you at the server of your request. Although,
we are not a web hosting company, we do have reseller rights with several
companies. We would recommend these companies to you but we are open to
helping you make the right choices in finding a hosting company, depending
on your needs.

Do I have to pay upfront
or can I pay in installments?
You can pay in installments. After the budget
has been agreed upon, a deposit of only 33% is required for our designers
to begin work on your project. When you approve the design composition
for further development, the second payment installment of 33% is due.
The last payment is due immediately prior to launch, after all corrections
have been completed and approved by you.
How long will it take to develop our site?
Our site development process depends on the size
of the project and the complexity of the functional elements that will
be included. We pride ourselves on timely completion of all projects and
strict adherence to timelines and deadlines.
What about maintenance and updates
after the site goes up?
Galway Web Design
offers both annual maintenance contracts for those requiring regular changes,
or affordable hourly rates for those requiring only occasional modifications.
Information on the site must remain current and accurate. Successful sites
are regularly updated so that events, calendars, and other information
remain up-to-date. We will work with you to continually update your web
site.
Do you offer Search Engine Optimization
&
Search Engine Promotion services?
Galway Web Design
specializes in achieving top rankings for all of the web sites we create.
We submit all sites to the search engines by hand, and custom
code the HTML to achieve top rankings in the search engines.
A Top 10 listing in a major search engine is an outstanding traffic
generator. Each major search engine (i.e. Google, Yahoo!, AOL, etc..)
uses different criteria to prioritize web sites in its listings. Our experts
specialize in obtaining truly outstanding rankings and, once achieved,
in defending and maintaining those positions.
Evidence of our Search Engine Success
If you choose us to develop your site, we will get your site
listed on the first page of all the major search engines, for the keywords
and keyphrases that you give us. We guarantee top rankings in the search
engines.
Many web development firms fail to achieve excellent results
in the search engines because much of work involved occurs after the site
has already been launched (and the firm has already been paid). However,
we pride ourselves in getting our clients listed on the first page (and
often listed literally number one) for their relevant keywords and keyphrases.
How do we achieve such great
results in the Search Engines?
Search engine algorithms use 55 different criteria
to assign web pages a numerical ranking in their listings. The algorithms,
like any software product, can be studied and understood. By understanding
the criteria that the search engines utilize to give certain pages top
listings in their rankings, we can reverse engineer the HTML code of our
clients' web sites to satisfy the maximum number of search engine criteria
and attain top rankings in the search engine results.
Most people, and even professional web developers, think that
all you must do is include appropriate 'meta-tags' in the HTML code. Meta-tags,
which include a Title and Description for each page, as well as a set
of Keywords, help some but aren't enough to get you listed on the first
page (i.e. a top 10 listing). And it doesn't matter whether you're listed
#34 or #121 because very few people scroll that far down the list.
So, additional aspects of the HTML code that we customize include:
title area keyword frequency,
title area word count,
link text keyword prominence,
link text word count,
body text content,
image alt text,
use of header tags,
and much more.

I want a web site
designed. Where do I start?
First, write down the components that you would like to see in
your site. Then we can provide you with ideas for other components, or
just provide you with an estimate based on your submissions. Check out
your competitors and see what they are doing. You may get some ideas on
what to do and what NOT to do!
What is the design process?
We require a deposit on all designs. We also will provide you with a web
site questionnaire. This helps us get a better idea of your tastes in
web design. We want to get your design right the first time around and
need to know what you have in mind. Lastly, we will send you a work agreement
stating the work we will be doing. After those three steps are accomplished,
we move onto the actual design. We will provide you with a large graphic
of what our concept of your site will be. We can work together on any
changes you may want to have done. At this point, we work on what a secondary
design page will look like. Once those two pages are completed and approved,
we break them into HTML code. We ask that you provide all of your content
to us so we can complete your site.
Who owns the web site after it is designed?
Once the site is paid in full, the rights belong to the company we design
it for.
Can this project take place entirely over
the Internet?
Yes. We have worked with numerous clients long distance. Some clients,
we worked with solely via email. Since all of our designs are delivered
via email, it is very convenient for the client to review them when they
are ready. No appointments are necessary!
I want to host with you. How do I transfer
my domain name?
We will do the necessary changes for you if you still have the
original email address you registered your domain under. If you are not
sure about this, drop us an email. If you are not accessible by the email
address you registered your domain with, we can advise you on the necessary
steps to submit the changes. If your current ISP registered your domain,
we will first attempt to contact them to make the necessary changes. However,
some ISP's will charge for this service.
Can I get my own email address at my domain,
such as john@mydomain.com?
Of course! When you first set up your email addresses, we will
ask you the alias domains that you want set up. We will FORWARD any email
that goes to that address to the email address of your choice. You will
still need to have an account with an ISP (such as Earthlink or AOL) and
we simply forward all of your email messages to your address.
How can I check and see if my domain name
is available?
You can go to Network Solutions to see if domains are available for your
site. We will be more than happy to register the domains for you.
I like my site's functionality, but need
a new design.
Can you work with my current content?
Yes. We do site redesigns frequently. We prefer to have you work with
your current content until you have it exactly the way you like it, and
then we can plug it into your current site.
How should I prepare my content for my
new site?
We prefer you to send your content via e-mail. In the subject line of
your
e-mail, we ask you to put the title of the page you would like the content
to go on. If you have changes, we would also prefer you to send the changes
in the same manner.
How long will the design take?
Once the content is provided to us and the design is approved, we can
produce your site in as little time as 5 days. Depending on the size of
the site, it can fluctuate. If there are a lot of changes made during
the process, this can slow down the time tremendously. We ask that the
content be edited and ready to go, so we can publish your site faster.
How do you price my estimates?
We price regular web sites per page. Larger e-commerce sites include licensing,
so it is more difficult to price per page. We have e-commerce pricing
available if you are interested.
I need to update my web site. Can you do
that for me?
Yes. We can update sites for your company. We can price it monthly or
we can price it per instance.
What statistics program do you provide?
We don't provide a statistics program, but suggest third party services
that start at 5 dollars a month. We can install the program on your site
for you. This tracking software tracks visitors, search engine traffic,
browser information and more.
What browsers will my site be compatible
with?
We design for Netscape 6, and Internet Explorer 6 and higher. It
is impossible to get a great looking site that is compatible with all
of the endless amounts of browsers and browser versions available.
